Hi,
I think for me Gary B. summed it all up in a nut shell. I'm not going to let people treat me with disrespect whether it's to do with religion or anything else for that matter. My husband and I have been fading for 7 years now. Not successfully because our family and the witnesses are still badgering us. Recently we have become a little more obvious about it. We have told our family that we don't want to be JW's any longer. That was about a month ago. Yesterday for the first time my Dad came by and told me that my Mom and sister still want to talk to me. Interesting that they sent a messenger. I said fine as long as they don't push the religion on myself/the hubby and especially our kids. We have yet to hear from my hubbys family. I don't know what will happen there. They are all JW's. When the elders come to the door now I tell them that I'm busy and can't come to the door. They have actually stopped phoning. My closest friends have stopped phoning. I guess only time will tell if we will be Df'd or not. We are trying to fade in an obvious way I guess. Successful or not. I don't know yet. I would probably say if people have family in the ORG. fading is the best thing. It's a lot less complicated. It's just hard to be fake when you really aren't that way. I don't think that God intented for us to be something that we aren't. All the best to you. That seems to be what the JW religion is all about. Being something that your not. Panther

Getting fed up with fading
by Pole inok, so here is my story in put a nutshell: .
1. i first had "nagging doubts" about the borg some three years ago (after 6 years of being a faithful witness).
2. i stopped avoiding "apostate" internet sites some 1.5 years ago, which really helped me confirm my doubts.

The most frustrating, sad thing in the world
by Soledad ini just learned that an ex-cowoker of mine became engaged to her abusive boyfriend.
she is probably one of the brightest, prettiest people i have ever known--but she doesn't believe that because her boyfriend would rather have her believe she is dumb, ugly and nothing at all without him.
i am so sad for this girl.. she was in college last year and he made her give it up.

You are a very good friend and that is definately what she needs right now. All the abuse and insults have made her insecure and feeling worthless. She probably feels like she won't be able to meet anyone else because I can almost guarantee that he tells her that. It's all part of his control tactics. She needs help. She doesn't sound strong enough to leave him on her own. She needs as much support as she can get. From you and from her family. This girl needs a big self esteem boost. She needs to know that she can make it without this guy. I would love to rough him up, personally. He sounds like a real piece of work. I've had a few in my life but I did manage to leave them behind. The baggage from them on the other hand takes a long time to get rid of. An abusive man/woman/person can mess you up really bad. It's awful what we do to each other as human beings. Sad really. She deserves better. Get her mom, family involved. Tell her to leave this guy. Don't let up. It could very well cost her, her life. Once she has his kids she's stuck with him. Sad, but true. Make sure she things good and hard on that. Is he going to hit her when she's pregnant. He does now!!! Books are good, get her to a councellor. Please help this girl. It sickens me to hear this crap. love a very worried panther

I want a corvette. The stationwagon with the hemi is way too cool too. That is definately a mom driving in style. I think all mom's should have one when they come home from the hospital with their new baby. Newbaby, new station wagon. Definately sounds fair to me. LOL panther / Hey we worked hard for those babies. Right ladies!!!!!

That's one of the most awful things I've ever heard. I can't believe it. It sickens me to think a mother could ever do that to her child. panther

Hello, I really like your question. I do believe there is a God. I also do follow certain parts of the bible. The fruitages of the spirit are stencilled on my daughters wall for her to learn and to remind me when I am feeling stressed/depressed. Love of neighbour is a very good example to all. I feel. God gave us the freedom. The freedom of expression, choice, to love, to hate. He gave it to us freely. I love God with all of my heart. I have researched evolution vs creation and definately feel and think that there is a creator from the evidence I have found. Not from the JW's creation book but from the internet and other research. I do not feel that I have to go to a church or kingdom hall to have a relationship with God or to please him as he has given us his standards in the bible. Some confusing, some simple. I treat others how I would like to be treated. If they don't treat me the same that is up to them and they are accountable in the end. I love God and I always will. No one can change that. I didn't feel as close to Jehovah God as a so called Witness as I do now. Sad but true. I wish that all witnesses could feel as blessed and as close to Jehovah as I do now. It's truly a wonderful experience. panther

I'm so sorry. It's so hard to lose one that we love. Be it a person or animal. They are our friend and our family. I lost my dog flopsy when I was 16 and it was horrible. I still miss my sweet dog. We did everything together. The bond was so strong. She was my best friend. I was always upset that animals wouldn't be in the new system so to speak. Now I'm comforted with the memories of her. I feel that I will see her again someday. I don't know how exactly, it's just a feeling that I have. I know that you will be with your LLama too. So take comfort. The pain does die but the memories do not. LOVE Panther

Free Literature at the Kingdom Hall
by frankiespeakin ini was thinking for all you guys who go the kingdom hall even though you know it's not the truth,, in order to keep from loosing all your friends and family,, why not take advantage of the wt free literature at your kh?
i mean the wt is forcing you to go to meetings with the threat of being outcasted from your family why not put a little dent in their finances but getting all the free literature you can and not contibuting anything for it.
after all the wt is offering it free of charge.

Welcome to the board. I think he was not very nice in that he totally lead you on. He was only thinking of himself if you ask me, and his own needs. A true friend wouldn't have done that to you. He sounds way too messed up. You have it together, your more mature. Maybe just a tad bit horny. Find a young hot man. But definately not that guy. He can have the JW girl. What a mess. (((((((hugs)))))))) panther
